Watford's Celebration of the Coronation of King Charles III

 


Here I am with Watford's Elected Mayor Peter Taylor, singer Joe Farry and the man of the hour himself, King Charles III! ;-) We all had an amazing day at the Cassiobury Park Bandstand celebrating the King's Coronation on Sunday 7th May. Dial Up & Tiger Jazz @ Watford Garden Rooms

 


Looking forward to our Dial Up Open Mic on Sunday 30th April at Watford Garden Rooms! Please note we have a later start time of 4pm this April, but we'll be back to our usual 2pm start on May 28th.

I'm also delighted to announce that I'll be unleashing Tiger Jazz at Garden Rooms 7- 9.30pm on Thursday 11th May, celebrating the beautiful and toe-tapping melodies of The Great American Songbooooooook! (It's a big book!) Hope to see you there and much love, Alex x

AdLibretto create a Dial Up Musical!

 


We had a wonderful time bringing The Dial Up to Theatre Deli, Aldgate earlier this month. Thanks to our special guests AdLibretto who once again astounded by producing an entire improvised musical based on audience suggestions, and thanks also to Mark and Maja, otherwise known as rock band The Diarists, who performed with such passion. Maya was the inspiration for AdLibretto's musical plot, which flitted between her dream of engineering a new bridge and tackling her ant-phobia. Mark Kindly filmed the whole thing, video above, so do give it a watch!

LGBT History Month Special and March Dates

 


Thank you so much to everyone who came to support our LGBT History Month Dial Up last night! It was an amazing evening, the brilliance and diversity of the performances was a true testament to the beautiful diversity of our town! Thank you to the Pump House and WOM for their support, our next Diversity event is our Black History Month The Dial Up Open Mic in October, but hopefully see you back at one of our regular events in March!

The Pump House celebrates LGBT History Month!

Following on from last year's LGBT History Month celebration, The Dial Up is delighted to be back at Watford's Pumphouse Theatre to fly the flag once more inclusion, diversity and community! So join us for a fantastic night of fun, frolics, music and merriment!

This is a free event supported by the Pumphouse for everyone to get involved in celebrating Watford’s wonderful diversity! For those who feel able to support, donations (suggested £5) will be gratefully received!

Christmas Specials!

 


Thanks to everyone who came to support our Dial Up yesterday! In inauspicious beginning turned magically into one of the most exicitng and creative events we've had for a long time, with poetry, jazz, folk and our youngest performer a mere 6 years old! Next one is Kitchen Croxley Dial Up Christmas Special at 7.30pm on Friday 9th December, followed by Garden Rooms Dial Up Christmas Special at 10m on Saturday 24th December. As an early Christmas present, here's a blast from the past... Carousel at a WPT Dial Up back in 2013. Enjoy, and hope to see you for some festive cheer this December! xx
