The Dial Up is proud to present an entirely new event for Watford's monthly calendar: 

THE DIAL UP JAZZ JAM!

Our regular Dial Up Open Mic, which runs 2-4pm on the first Sunday of each month at Tina's Cafe at the Pumphouse Theatre and Arts Centre, provides a space for people to share their individual talents and passions, and will still be running.

This NEW JAZZ JAM is a monthly gathering 2-5pm on the second Saturday of each month for musicians and vocalists who want to play together in a no pressure, fun focused, collaborative environment!

While focusing on the music of The Great American Songbook, all genres, instruments, voices and abilities are welcome! This is an inclusive space for players of all levels. Everyone is welcome, including audience. Entry is free with a suggested donation of £5 collected in the interval.

We meet at the gorgeous Art In Herts (81-89 St Albans Road, Watford, Front of shop is WD17 1SJ, Car park is WD17 1RY). There will be drinks and snacks available for purchase, all of which supports the venue so please do grab a glass! Well done Watford Fringe 2026!

It's all over for another year of Watford Fringe, and what a year it's been! So many wonderful shows, such a brilliant atmosphere around town. Thank you so much to all the performers, audience members, techies, producers and most importantly volunteers who have all made it happen.

If you'd like to catch up on my reviews of some of the top shows, you can check them out here. And as we wait for July 2027, don't forget there is still LOADS of creative stuff happening in Watford. Tiger Jazz at Harling Fringe and Herts Pride

 

I was honoured to have been selected as the headline act for the first ever Harling Fringe Festival! Such a wonderful day of racing round the beautiful village of East Harling, catching the classic car show, the art work in the church, a wonderful comedy drama and madcap comedy nostalgia show with hilarious songs about 90s memorabilia! Then added the day with two sparkling sets of Great American Songbook classics over a delicious pint of cider at the Nags Head pub singing to a gorgeously welcoming Harling crowd! Thank you so much to Sharon Gaffney and her whole team for making is possible. Can't wait to see you all again next year!
